Victorian to Neo-Victorian: How London Then Influences London, and Other Places, Now
The Victorian time period was a time of great inventions and progress in England. The railways came to life, the middle class boomed, gothic architecture arrived, and the arts came alive in this time period. Advances were made in medicine and science that made life easier for those of the time period. With great feats such as these it's no wonder that people today want to emulate the Victorians.
People today mimic a lot of Victorian society, from the clothes to the architecture to the life style. Gothic architecture is still popular today as are Victorian styled homes. Elements of Victorian fashion can be seen all over the place. And Steampunk has resurrected the Victorian life style in a whole new way.
After three weeks in London it was easy for me to see the way that Londoners reflect the Victorian times, both intentionally and unintentionally.

About Me!
I'm a recently graduated English major with a Creative Writing minor exploring life outside of school. I'm a total book nut and spend most of my time either reading or writing. I'm fascinated by the Tudor and Victorian time periods, as shown by this site, and enjoy reading about the different aspects of those time periods.
